WWE Elimination Chamber 2012

I was shocked that the opening match was what should have been the main event, the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match. Honestly, this was the only match on the entire PPV I was interested in seeing. The Smackdown Elimination Chamber was going to be a joke, with Mark Henry, and more importantly, Randy Orton unable to compete they really did not have any main event wrestlers other than the Big Show. And lets face it, the Big Show never wins anything lol.

Other than that, there was just an ambulance match between Kane and John Cena, and there is always a boring Divas match on every PPV. There was also a surprise United States Championship match between the Champion Jack Swagger and Justin Gabrial. Although I wish they didn't bother lol.

Well lets go through these in the order they should have been in based on how good the matches actually were lol...

Jack Swagger retained his United States Championship.

Beth Phoenix retained her Divas Championship

That's all that really needs to be said about either.

John Cena obviously won the ambulance match to set up his Wrestlemania match with the Rock. Kane choke-slammed Cena through an announce table. Cena gave Kane the Attitude-Adjustment off the top of the ambulance and then he through Kane in the back and shut the door for the win.

Smackdown Elimination Chamber. World Championship. Champion Daniel Bryan.
Wade Barrett started the match with the Big Show. Wade Barrett really impressed me and finally earned my respect in this match. He stole the show and should have won the whole thing. Cody Rhodes was almost as useless as the Great Khali who only lasted about a minute. The Big Show snapped the chains on top of Bryan's chamber and climbed inside with him just before he was released. But it didn't matter, the Big show was eliminated by Cody Rhodes before he could eliminate Bryan. Santino Eliminated Cody while he was celebrating. Barrett dominated the rest of the match, but was unfortunately eliminated leaving Bryan and Santino one on one for the World Championship. The crowd went crazy for Santino, and I almost thought he was going to win when he hit Bryan with the Cobra. But then Bryan locked the Cobra in his submission hold and Santino tapped out. I was very disappointed.

After the match, Sheamus came out and destroyed Bryan with his new move (Finlay's old finisher). Clearly, Sheamus has made his Wrestlemania choice and will be facing Bryan for the World Championship at Wrestlemania.

Raw Elimination Chamber. WWE Championship. Champion CM Punk.
Punk started against Kofi Kingston. Next was Dolph Ziggler. Then R-Truth, who was eliminated by a Macho Man elbow off the top rope by CM Punk. Later, as Punk was dead in the corner, Kofi jumped off the side of the chamber, caught Ziggler by the head and delivered a tornado-DDT onto the metal floor. Ziggler was knocked out, and Kofi hurt his back. This was when The Miz was released. He should have be able to eliminate anyone he wanted, but he didn't eliminate anyone. Once Chris Jericho was released he started eliminating everyone. First, he eliminated Dolph Ziggler with the Code-Breaker. Then, he eliminated Kofi Kingston with the Walls-Of-Jericho. But when they opened the door to let Kofi out, Jericho threw him out the door, but was then kicked out the door by CM Punk. As Jericho fell to the floor he hit his head on some equipment at ringside and was knocked unconscious and unable to continue the match. This was horrible. Jericho should have won, but instead was eliminated due to injury. Clearly this was to set up the Punk / Jericho match at Wrestlemania. Regardless, this left Punk one on one with the Miz. After delivering the GTS, Punk got the three-count and retained his WWE Championship.
