During her absence, Garcia took part in numerous AfterBuzz shows for WWE Raw and made a couple sporadic appearances on the main show.
Garcia has now inked a deal to return full-time to the WWE, this time on the SmackDown brand while current announcer Tony Chimel takes a backstage role in production.
Confirming the news on Twitter, Lillian Garcia told fans: "It's true! All happening so fast!
"I am returning to WWE as the Smackdown announcer.
"I am so overwhelmed by all of your amazing messages welcoming me back.
"I'm back because of all of you fans. I missed you too much!"
